S.Africa’s Northam Platinum half-year earnings more than triple
Northam Platinum’s Zondereinde smelter operation in Thabazimbi, South Africa.
South Africa’s Northam Platinum on Friday reported a three-fold increase in interim earnings, underpinned by higher metals prices and increased sales volumes.
Normalised headline earning per share (HEPS) for the six months ended on Dec. 31 jumped 241% to 369.6 cents, from 108.5 cents during the year-ago period.
HEPS is the main profit measure used in South Africa which strips out certain one-off items.
