Buyer of world record $11 million, 75-carat diamond finally revealed
Chinese tycoon Charles Heung Wah-keung’s wife, Tiffany Chen, is the “anonymous Asian buyer” who acquired a 75.36 carat briolette diamond for $11 million, one of the world’s most expensive ever gone under the hammer, at a recent Christie’s auction.
Chen, who paid $11 million for the pear-shaped and flawless gem in Hong Kong last May, named it “The China Star Diamond,” after the company her and her husband own, China Star Entertainment Limited.
The diamond is part of a pendant necklace that includes a marquise-cut purplish pink diamond suspended above the briolette.
