Deadly flood the result of illegal mining: Chinese government official
The municipal government of Jinan in China’s Shandong Province blamed a deadly mine flood on illegal mining on Sunday.
The Thursday morning coal mine flood left nine dead and another person missing. Search and rescue efforts continued today.
Local police are holding the operators of the mine in custody and have begun a full investigation of the flood.
