This Easter bunny has diamond eyes. Oh, yes, and it costs $49K
It took a world-renowned master chocolatier, cocoa from Tanzania, two solitaire diamonds and some gold to create the world’s most extravagant, and likely the most expensive, chocolate Easter bunny.
On sale for $49,000, roughly the cost of a high-end car, the edible animal measures 38 cm (about a foot tall) and weighs almost 5 kilos (11 pounds), but it will make you weight way more than that if you eat it all up — it has 548,000 calories.
Carved over a period of two days by Martin Chiffers, former chef décor of Harrods, and commissioned by British luxury retail site VeryFirstTo.com, the chocolate bunny can also be ordered with coloured diamonds or lower cost gems.
The treat also comes with three chocolate eggs decorated with gold leaves and two diamonds worth about $37,400, which were provided by luxury jewellery retailer 77 Diamonds.
Once the bunny has been eaten, the diamonds can be set into a custom-made piece of jewellery (such as earrings) free of charge, VeryFirstTo.com highlights in the product description.
