General Motors competes for stake in Vale’s base metals unit
Automakers have been stepping up efforts to lock in supplies of nickel and copper.
Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) said on Monday its third-quarter net profit fell 82% from a year earlier.
The bottom line came in at 238 million reais ($45.95 million), while its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) fell 37% to 2.714 billion reais.
