Ma’aden deploys space technology to explore projects across Arabian Shield

Australia’s Fleet Space Technologies announced Monday it has signed a contract with Saudi state-owned miner Ma’aden to explore up to 12,012 sq. km of its priority projects across the Arabian Shield.
The contract expands Fleet Space’s operational presence in the Middle East following a memorandum of understanding signed by the parties in January.
The initiative will be delivered through the regional joint venture with Saudi-based security solutions provider Tahreez, enabling the rapid deployment of Fleet Space’s vertically integrated ExoSphere platform, including its network of low earth orbit satellites, smart ground sensors and advanced AI models.
The four-year agreement with the Fleet Space and Tahreez JV will enable high-resolution, real-time 3D subsurface imaging up to 7 km in depth to support Ma’aden’s growth strategy, the company said.
Used by miners Rio Tinto, Barrick, Gold Fields and AngloGold Ashanti to deliver 3D imaging of mineral systems across five continents, the ExoSphere platform is designed to enhance data-driven exploration with near-zero environmental impact.
“This exploration contract with the Fleet Space and Tahreez JV marks the beginning of a new chapter in the future of mineral exploration—one where the latest advances in space technology, real-time geophysics, and AI converge to build the mineral supply chains of tomorrow,” Ma’aden CEO said Bob Wilt said in a news release.
“By integrating Fleet Space’s exploration stack with our operations, Maaden aims to set a new global benchmark in exploration data intelligence and build a faster, smarter, and more sustainable path forward for the global mining sector—fully aligned with the Kingdom’s bold transformation under Vision 2030.”
