Arctial aluminum plant in Finland targets production launch in H2 2029

The Rio Tinto-backed Arctial aluminum smelter in northern Finland is targeting first hot metal production in the second half of 2029, Arctial chief commercial officer Maxime Vandersmissen said on Tuesday.

Speaking at the CRU World Aluminium Conference in London, Vandersmissen said the start-up target assumed a final investment decision on the 610,000 metric tons per year project in 2027.
